Industrial Modern Wedding // Where Steel & Vintage Bulbs = Magic

What is more magical than hundreds of golden lights surrounding you?...probably hundreds of golden lights surrounding you in a gorgeous historical airport!

Two really fantastic wedding themes that can fit perfectly together are the industrial look, and the modern look. To showcase this gorgeous combo, we partnered with the Kansas Aviation Museum for this wedding design. This museum is not only a hidden historic gem in Wichita, but it also has so many original 1930's elements that I can barely catch my breath with excitement.

This original Wichita airport was there at the beginning as Wichita became the Air Capital of the the nation. So many fun things happened on these original floors, including a dance by the famous Fred Astaire as he waited for his flight.

Now this vintage building is a treasure trove of vintage airplanes, and a very unique event venue.

The hand painted design on the ceilings lend for easy built in wedding decor that you will never forget.

Let me show you how this space helped us create a wedding that feels authentic and romantic in a modern way.

To start with, how gorgeous is our bride??!

She wore a guipure lace dress that felt timeless and modern at the same time from Dress Gallery. Her bouquet of pale flowers by Free State Flora added just enough of accent color to her whole look. I specifically love the blue ribbon detail for her "something blue".

Here you can get a great look at the original designed hand painted ceiling and grand atrium floor. Amazing right?

One of our favorite touches lately has been the laser cut name place cards that we love making for our clients. This set up is definitely one of my favorites with added touches like the flowers from Free State Flora, and table sashes by Ray Event Rental.

What is true romantic ambiance without some candles? We loved the look of adding our rentable zinc lanterns in the mix on this one. These combined with our new custom steel head table overhang really completed the industrial and modern look. Adding an amazing floral arrangement overhead on the steel frame made it feel special with a "wow factor".

We decided to highlight some of the really unique qualities by convincing them to open a never before used (in modern day) hidden room for our ceremony site. This room was once used as a waiting space before exiting to board airplanes. The paint on the walls, the floors, the space as a whole is original to the days when this is what it was used for.

To me, this makes it the most amazing spot for an enchanting industrial modern wedding.

We used our rentable Edison Bulb lanterns to line the aisle, and draped the altar with our rentable steel structure with several strings of globe lights from Le Luci Lighting.

Lastly, we made complete use of all the fun elements of the museum for the wedding photos. This shot with a vintage plane is so amazing.

This shot was taken in the old control tower, which is always a photo op option for brides and grooms at this venue. Fun right?

Of course we needed a plane shot! To make this photo completely epic, we lit up a few of the airplanes behind the museum with up-lights by Accent Moblie Music. To me, this was the cherry on top. I am stunned by the magic in these photos.

To really experience this shot, you just have to see it in a large scale. It makes me feel like I should get married again just to do this with my husband!
